My partner’s mother had been searching for a nice container to keep rotis warm and serve out of at the dinner table. So, I made her an extra fancy one for Christmas.
Just this week I was able to capitalize on the opportunity to acquire a large format 3D printer. So, of course the first thing I did was print one of my designs at a large scale for use as a waste paper basket.
Luckily, I had some black ABS that I got for free over a year ago and was not able to print on my old printer, but for some reason I kept it anyway. Good thing, because it was a great material for this object and also cost effective in case of a failed print.
Happily, everything came out perfectly and after 30+ hours of printing, this design looks quite nice rendered in black ABS.
