I was recently hired by longtime client Mini Mioche, a Toronto based children’s clothing brand, to design and build the millwork for their newly opened Los Angeles, California Location. Everything was built here in Halifax, NS and shipped to L.A. just in time for a marathon installation, just days before the grand opening.
I recently completed a bunch of new fixtures for Mini Mioche's Queen St. location in Toronto. White Corian, White lacquer, white oak, white everything!
The fixture revamp consisted of custom clothing racks, pegboard wall and a seamless Corian reception desk.
I recently completed a custom walnut stash box for the Toronto based cannabis company, CabaNorth. The magnetic logo-medallion acts as a key for the concealed latch as well as a way (the only way) to lift the false bottom, and get at whatever you're hiding.
I just wrapped up fifteen of these custom white oak boxes with laser etched branding for Greenhouse Juice Co., in Toronto. A fun little project and a good opportunity for a quick little stop-motion animation.
As far as work is concerned, 2016 is a wrap and I'm on holidays for the remainder of the year. But, it was a mad dash to get all outstanding projects finished in time/before my break. Here's a clip of me cutting up some tiny white oak houses for Greenhouse Juice Co. See you in 2017!
New Work: A custom Standing desk in North American Beech and powder coated steel.
I’m very happy to see this completed; the beech looks really great against the RAL 7033 powder coating, which was chosen by the client (she could not have chosen a more perfect color, in my opinion). The color of the powder coating has a long military history, including german war tanks and submarines and dates back as far as WWII. The use of a unique color for furniture is refreshing to say the least and it’s a welcome change from the standard black or white that is usually chosen for powder coating.
The shape of the frame is another unique element that I was happy to incorporate into the design of the desk; I enjoy using rigid geometry and architectural structure in my furniture work and it’s not often that I get to, so I was very pleased to have the chance with this project.
I think this will win for my favorite project of the year.
I recently wrapped up this custom, 7 foot credenza for a client's Muskoka cottage. Clad in barnboard and blackened steel, dovetailed drawer construction, Spray stained and lacquered interior.
I just finished off this custom American Cherry writing desk yesterday afternoon, which I designed and built for a couple of friends’ home office.
American Cherry, solid steel with an antique gun metal patina and dovetailed Maple drawer boxes.
Drawer faces are on, this baby is almost ready to go to it's new home! #cherry #woodworking #handmade #furniture #design #toronto
